Liza Johnson therapist atlanta buckhead I believe that through listening and the therapeutic relationship, I can work with clients individually to highlight their strengths, resilience, and propensity for positive change in times of stress, challenge, and pain.  Being able to be guided by the client’s personal needs and inclinations, I seek to engage clients in a process of healing and metamorphosis, whether small or large.  With the experience of my own personal background, coupled with training using cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, the expressive arts, mindfulness, and narrative therapy, I choose to meet the client where she or he is.

I enjoy working with adults and children, individually or in groups.  I am experienced working with clients with the mood disorders of depression and anxiety, and with those experiencing anger or troubles with interpersonal communication.  I encourage the use of healthy coping skills and mindfulness practices in all my clients.

Couples Work Specialties:

  • Pre-Marital Counseling
  • Affair Recovery
  • Conflict Management
  • Communication Skills
  • Rekindling of Emotional Bonds/Intimacy
  • Relationship Growth
  • Discernment Counseling

Using the expressive arts can be a beneficial means to encourage children and help them make concrete the desired therapeutic goals.  I use art, books, and activities to engage children.

I have four children and enjoy spending time with my husband, children, and friends.  I appreciate spending time making pottery, running, hiking outdoors, traveling, reading, and cooking.

Please reach out to me for a free of charge conversation through my email at [email protected] or by phone at (404) 944-0847.  I look forward to meeting you!
