Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, APC007783 • National Certified Counselor, 1548212 • M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Mercer University • M.A. in French, Emory University • B.A. in French and Public Policy Studies, Duke University I am currently working under the supervision of Brenda Romanchik, LCSW, ACSW
I believe that through listening and the therapeutic relationship, I can work with clients individually, as families, or as couples to highlight their strengths, resilience, and propensity for positive change in times of stress, challenge, and pain. Being able to be guided by the client’s personal needs and inclinations, I seek to engage clients in a process of healing and metamorphosis, whether small or large. With the experience of my own personal background, coupled with training using cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, emotionally focused therapy, the expressive arts, mindfulness, the Gottman method, and narrative therapy, I choose to meet the client where she or he is.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Duke University and my Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Mercer University. I have experience working with individuals of all ages, families, and couples. My areas of expertise working with individuals include stress and anxiety, relationship struggles, life transitions, grief, boundaries, emotion regulation, depression, trauma, anger management, personal growth, and parenting. My areas of expertise working with couples and families include conflict management, communication skills, and relationship growth.
I have four children, ranging in ages, and enjoy spending time with my husband, children, and friends. I appreciate spending time making pottery, running, hiking outdoors, traveling, reading, and cooking.
